Paradise is Real

Kho-Ralia, from afar, looks like your typical constellation of “islands of paradise” slightly submerged in water that well-off families visit at the peak of summer. But once you’re near enough for a close look you’ll see that it’s a giant chain of shallow coastal reef formations. Hzentro and Ihgnesia are humanoid-made masterpieces. Kho-Ralia is a pure brushstroke from nature. The wet scent of seawater, the pulsating sound of foamy waves splashing through the reef, and the orange sun setting at the horizon dominate your senses in Kho-Ralia.

Although less industrialized compared to other regions of Terakuwa, Kho-Ralia is big enough to be a nation. Its evolution into a nation was more organic than intentional. Early inhabitants were voyagers who fell in love with the place, settled in and evolved their own culture. Some were traders and trailblazers who prefer a laidback lifestyle. One day, as if the “spirit of the Kho-Ralia” whispered into their psyches, the settlers felt it was time to formalize its nationhood. The rest was history.

Kho-Ralia is trapped in an eternal serenading of the moon and its beauty. The place is in love with crafts-making, trading, poetry, story-telling, fortune-telling, and singing. The nightly bonfire underneath the moon is a custom that maintains the living soul of the place. There is an old saying. Terakuwa wakes up and hustles in Hzentro, and sleeps with a lullaby in Kho-Ralia. No one knows its origin, but everyone gets it.
